FIA.01: Program for achievement of profession
and specialty of management
General conditions
The program includes five semesters which curriculum is designated as follows: FIA.01. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, where: FIA is an index of the college and the form of training; 01 is an index of the program; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is a serial number of the semester.
Each semester has calendar duration of 5 months: October-February and March-July. August and September are summer holiday.
The successful completion of the semesters gives the opportunity to acquire vocational qualification as follows: FIA.01.1 – I DVQ, FIA.01.2 – II DVQ, FIA.01.3 – III DVQ and FIA.01.4 – IV DVQ. FIA.01.5 gives the opportunity to obtain college diploma for profession and specialty.
The acquisition of IV DVQ happens after final exam it two parts: theory and practice.
The curriculum includes: А – general (basic), В – specialized (key for the vocational field), C и D – specific (for the profession and specialty) vocational qualification. The educational units which ensure A, B, C и D – vocational qualifications are group in vocational-qualification modules (VQM). The learning outcome of each module is a number or vocational competencies, with which the graduate practice his profession.
The vocational competencies as learning outcomes are state educational requirement (SER) for the profession and specialty. The curriculum and the methodology of education are the result of long standing work of European Business College as educational institution.
The professions and specialties are formed by specializing training modules mostly in 4-th and 5-th semester, trough which C and D vocational training are ensured and respectively specific vocational qualifications are mastered.
There is the possibility to expand the range of vocational competencies in each specialty, trough training of more eligible subjects and D modules.
Vocational competencies
Those who have obtained the I-st degree of VQ (1-st semester) know about the functional structure of the business (innovation, production, marketing and management). They are able to calculate the break-even and the target production programs, as well as an initial financial plan. They are also aware of the time factor in business and are able to work out network schedules, and through them to exercise control and coordination. They have initial computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel) and know English to an extent for basic daily and business communication. They can work as executives under the direction of a specialist in the management of a company.
Those who have obtained the II-nd degree of VQ (1-st and 2-nd semester) add up knowledge on currencies, currency markets, taxes and taxation and cash flows discounting. They can work as assistant specialists under changing business conditions in the management divisions of the company.
The students who have obtained the III-rd degree of VQ (I-st, 2-nd and 3-rd semester) are able to project and organize the production, innovation and marketing process. They can work out budgets of the business activity, and discount cash flows (taking into consideration the time value of money). They can make computer business calculations and know English so as to be able to communicate at the level of an office-secretary. They can conduct company policy, carry out activities in the offices and in the management divisions of a company as specialists under changing business conditions. They can also bear responsibility for performance of other people.
Those who have obtained the IV-th degree of VQ (1-st, 2-nd, 3-rd and 4-th semester) have the knowledge and skills to work out a business plan in accordance with the European standards, to calculate precisely the return on investments and to determine whether it is possible to start up a business with given assets and under certain conditions. They know how to make a given business survive and prosper. They also have a narrow qualification and can work as office managers, production and division managers or they can start a business of their own, bear responsibility for the performance of others and allocate funds for investments.
The graduated students (1-st, 2-nd, 3-rd, 4-th and 5-th semester) obtain basic vocational knowledge in logistics, security of the company, public relations, as well as и thorough specific knowledge in financial management, innovation management and entrepreneurship.
They are able to work out business plans and budgets of a starting business assessing the risks and the return of investments and on this basis to make investment decisions to start new businesses.
They could become managers of production firms and small enterprises as well as start own business, i.e. to become entrepreneurs.
